Projects
In September 2007 six Leitrim based artists were invited to conduct a short landscape study of the county and its environs in response to a number of ‘themes’ provided by the curator (see below). The aim was to build, within limited means, an overview of the conceptual, physical and social processes that constitute landscape and to establish those aspects each artist would like to explore further.
By early 2008 six further artists were invited to propose a site-specific project based on the data generated from the initial six in the form of a web-blog (see research). Twelve artists were finally selected for the project.
As projects evolved artists invited specialists from different disciplines to either collaborate directly with them on their works or to engage in an exchange concerning landscape and their mutual interests. Excerpts from these ‘dialogues’ are being collated and will appear shortly.
